SUNDAY 26TH APRIL
Join us on the Common from 2pm to help with the South Norfolk Big Litter Pick event in the village.
Equipment will be available along with refreshments from the wheelbarrow café.
All welcome! Even our furry friends.
With the holidays, and some lovely weather forecast for the week ahead, we’ll be bringing out the Crazy Golf, at the Manor Rooms garden, on Wednesday, from 10:00 until 14:00. Light refreshments will be available, or why not bring a pic-nic.

Following the PC meeting on the 16th September the PC will be making a comment about the proposed Pay and Display bays along Whitlingham Lane. The PC did ask for an extension to the comment window, which closed on 6th September, but this was denied by NCC, which meant that the PC meeting fell outside the consultation timeframe. However, the PC will still send in a collective comment following our meeting on the 16th Sept. Look out for more information in our newsletter and social media posts.

The Parish Council are looking to set up a village book swap. As the winter nights draw in and the cost of everything is going up, we were wondering if residents would be keen to have a place where books can be swapped. You will see that the new Adult Gym equipment is now in position on the common. We hope you enjoy getting some exercise whilst your little ones are having fun on their equipment. Or, if you don’t have children, just enjoying exercising outside on our lovely common.
Please note that the gym equipment is only suitable for those over 1.4m tall, or the age specified on the individual piece of equipment.
The table tennis table is now in situ too, so bring your paddles down for a game.
It was a wet Saturday morning on March 5th when a team of trusty volunteers set about planting some trees along the edge of the ditch on the common. This was all done in aid of reducing the risk of flooding on the common and to create more habitats for animals, insects, birds that are native to Trowse and maybe encourage some new ones. The trees were kindly supplied by South Norfolk District Council and with the advice of local tree officer Henry Gowman we set about creating this new environment.
Volunteers braved the damp conditions to help get these trees and shrubs into the ground and many a muddy wellie was seen!
Cllr Heather Bowers got stuck in (the mud) and joined in with the planting.
We even had some four legged help. Although I think she enjoyed the ball more than the trees!
It was great to see so many people involved with the planting and our thanks go to all of the volunteers who turned up that day. Special thanks go to Christine Ender and Chris Bowers whose stoic efforts early on Saturday made the planting that much easier.
It is going to take some time for the trees to establish themselves and we will have to be careful around them in the meantime. But, with any luck, in a few years we will have a wonderful hedgerow and lots of new animal inhabitants of Trowse.
